This article is a set o instructions on how to setup an email account (IMAP) in Microsoft Outlook.
- Start
Outlook.
- On
the File menu, click Info and click Account Settings.
- Select
Account Settings from the list.
- On
the E-mail tab, click New and Select Email Account, and then click Next
- Click
to select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types
check box, and then click Next.
- Click
Internet E-Mail, and then click Next.
- In
the Server Information section, select IMAP for Account Type.
- In
the Your Name box, enter your name exactly as you want it to appear to
recipients.
- In
the E-mail Address box, type your e-mail address.
- In
the User Name box, type your full email address.
- In
the Password box, type your password.
- IMAP
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- SMTP
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
The
initial setup is done, now you to click on the “advanced” option button. And
make sure the settings are as follows:

Go
to Outgoing Server (tab
- Select
“My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Select
“Use same settings as my incoming server”
- Go
to Advanced (tab)
- Server
port numbers
- Incomming
server (IMAP): 143
- Use
the following type of encrypted connection: None
- Outgoing
server (SMTP): 25
- Use
the following type of encrypted connection: None
- Click
OK (You will return to the previous window
- Click
Next (Outlook will run a test and finalize the account setup)
